Yes, you can wear them in the shower, at the pool, at the beach, etc!
Our jewelry is made of stainless steel, sterling silver or gold filled, three materials that are waterproof tarnish free. To learn more about the quality of our products, visit our Our materials page.
For jewelry with freshwater pearls or cubic zirconia, it is best to remove them before going in the water to avoid damaging them.
Does your jewelry leave marks on the skin?
All our jewelry made of stainless steel or gold filled leaves no trace on the skin! The black or greenish marks on the skin are caused when the material that makes up the jewelry oxidizes. Stainless steel, as its name suggests, does not oxidize. So there's no way your fingers or neck will turn green with our jewelry made of this material. Jewelry made of gold filled has a very thick layer of gold on its surface, it's like wearing jewelry made of solid gold.
Our sterling silver jewelry may oxidize slightly over time due to the fact that pure silver must be combined with copper to form an alloy strong enough for jewelry making. This means that wearing sterling silver jewelry can potentially leave a surface mark on the skin. However, these marks are easily removed with warm water and a mild soap.
Will your jewelry tarnish?
Our jewelry made of stainless steel will never tarnish since it does not oxidize. They are coated with a real layer of gold using the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process which forms a strong bond between the gold and the stainless steel. This method is known to give jewelry better durability than electroplating ( gold plating ). Nevertheless, it is possible that the gold coating fades in some places over time.
Gold filled comes very close to solid gold. Indeed, its gold layer is up to 100 times thicker than gold-plated jewelry. Our gold filled jewelry will therefore never tarnish, no matter how much you use it.
Pure silver must be combined with copper to form sterling silver, an alloy strong enough for jewelry making. Due to this combination, it is not impossible for dark spots to appear on these jewels over time. However, it is easy to restore them to their natural luster with a simple cleaning!

Can I wear your jewelry if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! Our jewels are an excellent choice for people with sensitive skin since they do not contain nickel, the metal causing the most allergic reaction.
All sterling silver jewelry, although considered skin safe since it does not contain nickel, is made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. So it might not be suitable for the most sensitive skin.
What is the difference between gold plated jewelry and PVD gold jewelry?
Gold-plated jewelry is usually made of brass and covered with a thin layer of gold applied by electrolysis. This coating method forms a very weak adhesion between the gold and the base material of the jewel, which causes the gold layer to degrade quickly. In addition, the jewelry which brass is used as the base material rusts easily, so it will blacken and be harmful to the skin.
The process we use to coat our jewelry with gold is the most modern and is the one that forms the strongest bond between the gold layer and the base material of the jewelry. Our jewels therefore remain shiny for much longer! We also only use stainless steel as the base material for our PVD gold jewelry making it tarnish resistant, water resistant and skin safe.
Why don't you sell gold plated sterling silver jewelry?
We only offer you jewelry at the best price-performance ratio. When buying gold-plated jewelry on sterling silver, you usually pay more for a lower quality than stainless steel.
Although sterling silver is higher quality than other base materials (such as brass), it will eventually oxidize and tarnish naturally. It will be difficult afterwards to remove the traces of tarnish with simple cleaning as one would for a sterling silver jewel not plated with gold. The reason is that cleaning with a polishing cloth may damage the gold plating, making the piece of jewelry even less beautiful.
Exchange and warranty
What is the warranty on the products?
If one of your Aurea jewels breaks within 60 days of its purchase despite normal use, contact us and we will be happy to repair your jewel for free. If it is not possible to repair it, we will replace it.

What is your return and exchange policy?
Shop with peace of mind at Aurea! If you are not satisfied with your purchase or if the size you ordered is not the right one, you have a period of 30 days following receipt of your order to return the item to us. We can then make an exchange or give you a credit on our online store. It is important that returned items arrive no later than 30 days after receipt of your order and that they comply with the return conditions , otherwise we will not be able to accept the exchange or give you credit. Returns that do not meet these conditions will be sent back to you, without exchange or credit.

I am not satisfied with my purchase, can I have a refund?
We do not offer refunds. However, if you are not satisfied with your purchase, we can offer you a store credit equivalent to the amount of the purchase you made.

It is possible to cancel your order free of charge if we have not yet dispatched it. We prepare and ship orders within 3 days of purchase, so if you wish to cancel your order, contact us as soon as possible.

If you want to modify your order, you must contact us as soon as possible since we process orders within 3 days of purchase.

How can I track my order?
Our standard delivery does not include a tracking number. However, if you have chosen another delivery option, you will find the tracking number for your order in the shipping confirmation email.
Can I change my delivery address?
If you wish to change the delivery address of your order, you must contact us as soon as possible since we process orders within 3 days of purchase. Once the order has been sent it will be too late to change the delivery address.
What are the shipping costs and delivery time?
Standard shipping is free for orders of $75 or more. Otherwise, delivery costs are $3 and the delay for this option is 3 to 9 business days. What payment methods do you accept?
We only accept payment by Visa or Mastercard credit card at this time.
Is it possible to buy a single earring and not the pair?
Yes! If you want to buy only one earring, contact us and it is with pleasure that we will organize the transaction with you.
Can I have my order gift wrapped with a gift receipt?
We don't have a gift wrap option at this time. However, we send each piece of jewelry packaged in a very nice high quality microfiber pouch.
To avoid wasting bags, we sometimes combine jewelry from the same order together. So if you're buying multiple pieces of jewelry to give as gifts, put it in the notes when you checkout and we'll wrap the jewelry individually.
How can I use my gift card?
Simply enter your gift card code in the "discount code" field when paying for your items. The amount of your gift card will then be deducted from your invoice.
If there is money left on your gift card after your purchase, you can use the same code later on another order.
